Getting Ready at Bartle Hall Lodge
Shauna and Scott chose Bartle Hall Country Hotel in Lancashire for their wedding, with the bridal party staying at Bartle Hall Lodge the night before. Having exclusive use of the space meant the morning preparations were relaxed, organised and genuinely enjoyable, with plenty of time for everyone to get ready together.
Providing wedding makeup at Bartle Hall Lancashire is always a pleasure. The large room and private preparation space create the perfect setting for a calm, seamless bridal morning. When everything is in one place, it allows me to focus fully on creating flawless, long-lasting makeup while the bridal party can simply soak up the excitement of the day.
A dedicated space makes such a difference on a wedding morning, keeping the atmosphere smooth and stress-free from first brush stroke to final touch-ups. A Rainy Wedding Morning in Lancashire
The rain was heavy outside, but inside the lodge the mood was excited and relaxed. Wedding mornings at Bartle Hall always feel cosy, and the soft natural light still worked perfectly for makeup application and photographs.
Rainy days often give the nicest lighting for natural wedding makeup, helping skin look fresh and even in photos.

Natural Makeup for the Bride
Shauna’s brief was right up my street: she isn’t someone who usually wears a lot of makeup, so her main priority was feeling like herself. We went for a look that focused on enhancing her natural beauty rather than a total transformation.
The "Me, But Better" Bridal Look
For Shauna, we focused on creating a "polished yet effortless" vibe. To achieve that timeless finish, we prioritized:
Fresh, Natural Skin: We kept the base lightweight and glowy so her real skin could shine through.
Soft Eye Definition: Using neutral, earthy tones to make her eyes pop without looking "heavy."
The Comfort Factor: Using long-lasting, professional products that feel weightless, essential for a day full of hugs and dancing!
Natural Lashes: Just enough to add a little flutter while keeping the look soft and bridal.
The result? Shauna looked like the very best version of herself, radiant, relaxed, and completely comfortable.

A Mix of Natural & Glam for the Bridesmaids
It wasn’t just about the bride! I also had five bridesmaids in my makeup chair. I love working with larger bridal parties because everyone has their own unique style.
Some of the girls opted for a soft, natural look to match Shauna, while others wanted a bit more of a "glam" finish. By tailoring each look to their individual features but using a consistent colour palette, we kept the whole bridal party looking cohesive and beautiful in the photos.
Wedding Makeup at Bartle Hall, Lancashire
If you’re still hunting for a Lancashire wedding venue, I can’t recommend the accommodation at Bartle Hall enough for your morning preparations.
We set up in the Lodge, which is a total dream for a makeup artist. It’s spacious, filled with natural light (which is the secret ingredient for flawless makeup!), and has such a chilled-out atmosphere. Being onsite the night before means no rushing around in the morning, just more time for champagne and getting pampered!
