Bridal Makeup at The River Manor, Dolphinholme - A New Lancashire Wedding Venue
If you’re recently engaged and have chosen The River Manor in Dolphinholme for your wedding, you’ve picked somewhere very special.
I recently came across the plans for The River Manor and was so excited to see a new wedding venue coming to Lancashire. Set alongside the river, with woodland and botanical-inspired spaces, on-site accommodation and a beauty parlour, it looks like it is going to be a beautiful setting for weddings from 2028.
I’m particularly looking forward to seeing how couples make the most of the different spaces throughout their wedding day.

Bridal Makeup at The River Manor
As a bridal makeup artist based in Lancashire, I work with brides across the county and the surrounding areas, and I know how important it is that your makeup feels like you.
For me, bridal makeup isn't about covering you up or following a particular trend. It's about creating a look that makes you feel confident, comfortable and beautiful, while also making sure it photographs beautifully throughout the day.
Whether you prefer a really natural look or something a little more glamorous, your bridal makeup should complement your dress, flowers, hair and the overall feel of your wedding.
If you're planning your wedding at The River Manor, I'd be very happy to chat through your ideas and see how I can help.

Your Wedding Morning
One of my favourite parts of a wedding day is the morning itself. There is always such a lovely atmosphere as everyone gets ready together, and I think it's important that it doesn't become stressful or rushed.
I allow around 60 minutes for the bride's makeup and usually 45–60 minutes for bridesmaids and other members of the bridal party, depending on the makeup look.
Having enough time built into your morning means you can actually enjoy those moments with your bridesmaids and family rather than worrying about whether you're running late.
I've written a full guide to help brides work out how long to allow for hair and makeup on their wedding morning, including an example timeline for a bride and four other members of the bridal party.
Your Bridal Makeup Trial
I always recommend having a bridal makeup trial before the wedding.
It's a chance for us to sit down together without the pressure of the wedding morning and work out exactly what you like. You can bring along photographs of your dress, flowers or makeup ideas, and we can talk through everything from your usual makeup routine to how you'd like to look in your photographs.
For me, the trial is just as much about getting to know my bride as it is about getting the makeup right.
By the time your wedding day arrives, you'll know exactly what your makeup will look like and, hopefully, feel completely relaxed knowing you're in safe hands.
The River Manor – A New Wedding Venue for Lancashire
I think The River Manor is going to be a really lovely addition to the Lancashire wedding scene.
The combination of the riverside setting, woodland ceremony area and the fact that couples can stay on site makes it particularly appealing for a wedding weekend rather than just a few hours on the day itself.
And having a beauty parlour on site is another lovely touch for brides and their bridal parties.
With weddings starting from 2028, I'm sure we'll be seeing lots of beautiful celebrations coming out of The River Manor over the next few years.
