A question I get asked quite a lot is what products do I carry in my makeup kit.
I have a huge selection of products and I don’t tend to stick to one particular brand but I do go off recommendations a lot.
If I hear other makeup artists raving about a product it generally means its a good product and so I tend to try and buy stuff this way. I have made a lot of mistakes with my kit and I have brought a lot of stuff that I never ever use and this can be quite costly over time. Now days I tend to research products first and make sure I purchase stuff that I will use.
Some of my favourite brands are Charlotte Tilbury, Mac, Nars, Temptu, Georgio Armani and Kiko.
A favourite Moisturiser that I always carry in my kit is the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré. This is a three-in-one moisturising lotion, primer and make-up remover. It’s a bit of a cult favourite for makeup artists and if you ever go back stage at London Fashion week you will find almost all of the makeup artists backstage carry this moisturiser in their kits.
Although I tend to use airbrush foundation quite a lot (my favourite brand is Temptu) I still like to carry a selection of traditional foundations in my kit.
I have heard so many good things about the Georgio Armani luminous silk foundations that I had to purchase a few bottles to try. This foundation doesn’t disappoint, it’s a light buildable foundation and leaves the skin with a healthy dewy glow. It’s perfect for bridal work.
My favourite Eyeshadow Palettes are ones that have a mix of matte shades and metallic shades. I like my eyeshadows to be very pigmented.
One of my favourites is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette.
It has 14 beautiful shades and the colours are very easy to blend.
I also use the Violett Voss Ride or Die Palette quite a lot as it has so many lovely shades and the colours also blend very well.
Mac also do lovely eyeshadow palettes as do Charlotte Tilbury. This one below super pretty for bridal work. The colours are so soft and pretty on.
One of my favourite products from the Charlotte Tilbury range is the Flawless Filter complexion booster.
It gives skin a beautiful healthy glow without looking too much. I find some highlighters look so very obvious and I am not a fan of too much highlighter. I much prefer a subtle glow.
I am also a huge fan of Charlottes eyeliners. I recently purchased the Rock and Kohl pencils in Barbarrella Brown and Bedroom Black. These eyeliners are perfect for creating a smokey eye. They are creamy so easy to blend but also waterproof so stay put for ages without smudging.
I adore these pretty nude lipsticks from Mac and I am always adding different shades to my kit. I particularly love the velvet teddy and honey love.
Macs iconic Ruby Woo lipstick is also a firm favourite of mine when creating a bold red lip, it has a matte texture and really makes a statement.
Another favourite product of mine is the Film star Bronze and Glow from Charlotte Tilbury.
You can use this for sculpting, contouring and highlighting or just as a bronzer to give a healthy sun kissed glow.
That’s just a small selection of my favourite products.
I am constantly adding and updating my kit so new products are added all of the time.
